At Vinci & Rakos our main objective is to provide you with the best products, customer service and delivery as possible. If you have any questions about an order or product, ideas, suggestions, or even, heavens no, complaints, please free to email us at dolores@vinci-rakos.com. We will do our best to answer you as promptly as possible.
To Place Your Order
The fastest way to place your order is to call us toll free at 1-800-545-4332. Local California residents please call us at 760-674-3060. (Monday Saturday 9:00am 5:00pm PST) or you can make a copy of the Order Form at the end of our Web Site and Fax your order to us at 1-760-674-3070 (24 hours, 7 days a week). If ordering on the internet, you will receive a confirmation from us after your order has been reviewed and your credit card information approved. If we have any questions with your order, we will either call or email you to discuss.
Method of Payment
For your ordering convenience, VINCI & RAKOS, INC., dba Who Makes Sense? accepts Master Card, Visa and American Express on our secure server. We also accept personal checks and money orders in US Dollars. Please make checks and money orders payable to Vinci & Rakos or Who Makes Sense? Sorry, but we do not ship orders COD. Please note that personal checks have to clear before we can ship your oder.

To inquire about an order already placed or received, broken or missing

Shipping
- Orders are processed and shipped on business days only Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays unless other arrangements have been made. Please note that orders received on Saturday and Sunday will be shipped the following Monday.
- Orders are usually processed within 24 hours of receipt when received during the business week. The exception would be if we are developing custom blends or fragrances or conducting personal shopping which might make the process longer.
- Please note that our shipping charges are based on either UPS Ground Track or USPO Insured Priority Mail rates, the weight of your package and its destination.
- For Express Charges, Overnight Air, Second Day Air, Third Day Ground, Hawaii, Alaska and International shipments, plus oversized items, please call us at #800-545-4332 or email us at dolores@vinci-rakos.com. We strongly suggest that for International shipments, we discuss your different shipping options and charges before you place your order. Please note that orders shipped to Hawaii or Alaska must be shipped either Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air.
Handling
The charge for handling is usually $3.50 for small packages but will increase for larger orders, oversized items and baskets which will be priced accordingly. Handling for large baskets usually runs between $10.00 to $15.00.
Sales Tax
We are required by law to add sales tax (7.75%) to each order shipped within California. If you are shipping a package to any other destination in the United States or Internationally, sales tax will not be charged on your purchase.
Product Availability
We will do our best to honor any items ordered, however, due to the availability of products, fragrances, gifts, packaging and baskets, substitution of items may occur, especially when preparing Gift Baskets or Gift Boxes. We will advise you if the substitution is significant.
Product Pricing
Please note that pricing does not include shipping and handling. Prices are subject to change without notice but we will do everything possible to let you know as soon as possible if changes are necessary. We apologize for any discrepancies caused by typographical errors, and we reserve the right to correct them. We are not obligated to sell items at mismarked prices. We apologize and will make every effort to avoid any such errors.
Back Orders
Please note that on rare occasions, items may not be available to ship at the time of your order. If this happens, we will notify you before we ship the rest of your order. If you agree that we should put the item on backorder for you, we will ship your item immediately upon availability. If we are unable to ship the item within a reasonable amount of time, we will notify you.
Hand Delivery Information
If you live in the Palm Desert area, personalized delivery by messenger is available. Delivery charges are in addition to the cost of the gift purchased and is determined by the distance. Please note the following conditions:
- We need the phone number of the person who will be receiving the gift so we can call and make arrangements for delivery.
- There will be a charge for a second delivery charge if the recepient is not home when we arrive and we have to go back. We will make every attempt to leave the gift with a neighbor or leave a note on the recipients door so they can call us to arrange a re-delivery. We will leave the gift at the delivery address if instructed by the purchaser which will then be your responsibility.
Corporate Clients
Let us create custom gift basket or gift box designs for your company or organization. We can work with you to help capture and create your image perfectly.
Personalized Shopping
If requested to do so, we will go shopping for you for those special items that we do not normally carry that you would like added to your Gift Basket. The cost for this special service is $25.00 an hour with a one hour minimum, plus 15% of the cost of the purchases.
Gift Certificates
Gift Certificates can be purchased in two ways: Paper Gift Certificates and E-Gift Certificates. Please note that any charges such as additional purchases, taxes, shipping and handling incurred over the value of the certificate will be added when the recepient redeems their certificate. Please remember to give us the proper address
Gift Wrapping
Your gift can be beautifully wrapped in either a Gift Box or Gift Bags depending on the size of your gift. Please note: We will determine the size of the box or bag necessary to wrap your gift, especially if multiple items are ordered. Therefore, you cost for gift wrap may vary from your original total.
Returns and Exchanges
Returns: We stand behind the quality of each of our producs. If a product or gift item fails to meet your expectations, you can return it to us. If you wish to return your purchase, please notify us beforehand so we can discuss your problem and understand why you were not pleased. This will help us with future orders. The item must be sent back within 30 days from date of purchase or receipt if a gift. Please repack you order and ship by UPS or Insured Parcel Post, for your protection and to insure prompt return. We will refund or credit the value of the item and any taxes you were charged. Please, please make sure to send us your name, addess and phone number when returning. Exchanges: Exchanges of products are available up to 30 days from date of purchase or receipt if a gift, as long as items are in saleable condition. You can exchange the item for another item of the same value or more provided you pay the cost difference and/or additional shipping/taxes/and import duties, if necessary. Please ship by UPS or Insured Parcel Post, for your protection and to insure prompt return. Please, please make sure to send us your name, address and phone number when exhanging.
